Adello launches new immersive advertising format

The online marketing company Adello is expanding its mobile advertising inventory. #Immersive3D is set to generate a new virtual reality experience on smartphones. The Skicircus Saalbach is already the first customer. The tourism organisation wants to bring winter sports to life on smartphones.

Adello emphasises that mobile is continuing to grow with the launch of a new advertising format "#Immersive3D". 360-degree videos are successful on YouTube and can be played on VR headsets to create a new experience. As not everyone owns a VR headset, Adello is bringing this to mobile phones as an advertising format.

The launch of the format in mobile advertising uses the smartphone's sensors to change the perspective in the running advertising video: depending on the movement of the smartphone, you can look in the direction you want, while the video points there "as if in real life".

Skicircus Saalbach relies on the new advertising format

The first use was with the customer Skicircus Saalbach, who wanted to bring winter sports to life on a mobile phone in this way. According to Adello, which is based in Zurich, the new format is suitable for all experiences that are intended to convey depth and movement, such as high-altitude hikes, car journeys, club visits, drone flights, trade fair visits, bike rides or restaurant visits. The experience of controlling the viewing angle by rotating the smartphone (or manually by swiping) is fascinating for many users.

As all pre-click interactions (including rotation movements of the mobile phone) are measured by Adello, this can also be used to link competitions, for example by displaying prizes, vouchers or code words in certain places where they can be clicked on.
