Best of Swiss Apps: The shortlist of the best app projects

Out of 195 entries, 47 have made it to the final. Among others, various companies that have created an augmented reality app can hope for an award at the award show in November.

The shortlist for the Best of Swiss Apps Awards is here. The 54-member jury of Best of Swiss Apps evaluated all the submitted projects on jury day. This year, Swiss app makers submitted 195 entries in 10 categories. Compared to last year's 183 submissions, that's almost seven per cent more projects, the organisers wrote in a statement. The shortlist can be found at bestofswissapps.ch can be viewed.

The anniversary edition of 2022 is the second-best Best of Swiss Apps year, it continues. The "Corona dip" of the previous edition has been overcome, according to jury chairman Christof Zogg. A total of 47 projects made it onto the shortlist in at least one category. The submissions are among the best digital projects of the year and can hope for further awards at the Award Night: Gold, Silver or Bronze.

Augmented reality strongly represented

The total of seven participants working with augmented reality include apps for end consumers that we are familiar with: For example, the 1125 Wattwil Celebration App with it, the Mobility AR Scavenger Hunt, the Rivella bottle hunt or the well-known ARTour Basel. But there are also apps that work with AR in the corporate sector. Thus digitised Gilgen Digital with AR - from large systems to a single screw - the logistics and Yago Assistance is the simple and secure AR Remote Support solution.

In the SchoolHub in the new Novartis pavilion, secondary school students also experience the fascination of medicine and STEM professions in an innovative way. In augmented reality, you can interactively experience 6 organs: how they function, diseases, healing methods and preventive measures.

The project nominations for the title Master of Swiss Apps will be announced on 29 September. The readers' vote for the Master of Swiss Apps will start on Monday, 3 October. The subscribers of the Net tickersof the Netzwoche newsletter. The winner of the coveted trophy and Master of Swiss Apps 2022 will be announced at the award night on 2 November.
