Microsoft presented a new mixed reality platform for digital collaboration at its Ignite 2021 conference. It is called "Microsoft Mesh" and videos demonstrate how the company envisages the whole thing.
"Microsoft Mesh" is designed to give users the feeling of really being together in the same place during online meetings or other forms of virtual teamwork. According to Microsoft, the new platform will give users the impression of being in the same room together, even if they are somewhere else entirely. Mesh-enabled apps will provide the opportunity to interact with each other via 3D content. "Microsoft Mesh" will be integrated into "Microsoft Teams" and "Microsoft Dynamics 365".
"Microsoft Mesh is a platform that companies can flexibly adapt to their own needs. It offers almost unlimited possibilities for developers: For example, travel companies can offer virtual tours of places of interest. Architecture firms can make buildings virtually accessible in order to develop their designs together with other companies. And in production halls, remote employees can support their colleagues virtually," says Microsoft.
