Travel the world for free with Magenta VR

For 2020, Deutsche Telekom is planning numerous in-house productions and collaborations on the topic of "Travelling in 360 degrees". With the Magenta Virtual Reality app, users can get to know the world's most beautiful travel destinations and exciting locations. The first VR travel special "North America" is now available free of charge in the MagentaVR app.

In Deutsche Telekom's travel special, users explore the Canadian city of Montreal, take a round trip along the American West Coast and plunge into the hustle and bustle of the metropolis of New York. Whether globetrotters looking for inspiration for their next trip or adventurers with limited mobility: virtual reality provides more vivid insights into holiday destinations than two-dimensional photos in a catalogue. North America is explored with licensed 360° films from content partner Iconic Engine.

"Travelling will be a key topic in the Magenta VR app in the first quarter. Users will soon be able to virtually travel through popular European metropolises such as Copenhagen, Berlin, Hamburg and Amsterdam"says Stephan Heininger, Head of Virtual Reality at Deutsche Telekom.

The following cities are available for the time being:

The City of Montreal

The second largest city in Canada attracts visitors with its French soul, hip flair and a great love of good food. Mont Royal, downtown and an impressive skyline invite you to stroll and explore.

Cruising West Coast

A road trip along the west coast of America - this 360° film makes this wish come true. Users start in Los Angeles, the largest city in California, and travel along the Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco. Other highlights include fascinating national parks, the glitzy metropolis of Las Vegas and a scenic flight over the Grand Canyon.

New York

Then it's off to the city that never sleeps: the VR film "New York" takes users on a trip in a virtual tourist bus through Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

The Magenta VR app is available free of charge for iOS, Android, Daydream and Oculus Go. If you don't want to watch the VR content alone, you can take a seat with your friends in the VR Lounge - no matter where you are.
