Rebuilding Notre-Dame: VR documentary published

On 15 April 2019, Notre-Dame Cathedral caught fire. Since then, it has not been open to the public and it is not yet clear when this will happen again. It will probably be many years before the church is restored.

If you want to see how Notre-Dame looks after the fire, you can now visit the VR documentation "Rebuilding Notre-Dame", which can be viewed via the Oculus Quest app. Oculus TV is available. "Experience a unique and unprecedented immersion of the cathedral before and after the fire, narrated by those responsible for maintaining the iconic monument," says the video.

The VR filmmakers from Targo recorded Notre-Dame in 360 degrees around a year ago, still intact at the time, which is why the footage is now very valuable archive material. The French VR filmmakers were later given access to the building again, this time in its severely damaged state today. This enabled the VR documentation to be realised.
