With the new SBB BOD  app, users can experience Switzerland in virtual reality. The SBB have developed the app for Android (from version 5) and iOS (from version 11) launched and recommend the virtual reality glasses Cardboard or Oculus.

In the beginning, Arosa and Lucerne including Pilatus could be discovered in the app. New adventures have been added in Zurich, Lugano and Zermatt, and an adventure in Basel will follow at a later date. It is also possible to experience spectacular railway routes of the Grand Train Tour of Switzerland in 360 degrees. These routes are included:

  • St. Gallen - Schaffhausen

The full version is free of charge and is available in German, French, Italian and English.

For the app, SBB cooperated with Switzerland Tourism, Swiss Travel System and Railaway, among others.

Find stars and win prizes.

The application is currently also enticing users with a competition: Users can find yellow stars every day on their virtual journey and, with a bit of luck, win a discount on their next trip. Once a week, a red star is also on the way in the app. With this, exciting short trips to the new VR destinations as well as Swiss Travel Passes and day tickets are raffled off.
