With "Shooty Fruity" a game for PlayStation VR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift will be released at the end of 2017 that can almost be described as the "Fruit Ninja" of virtual reality. Whether it will be as successful remains to be seen, of course.
As the newest employee in the Super Megamart, you start the working day as normal, but suddenly the genetically mutated fruits attack. Human-sized melons, wild oranges and deadly raspberries have to be shot down. There are many different weapons available for this, with a little twist, because you are in a supermarket after all: "If you scan a can of beans, you get a pistol. If you scan more cans, you get a super-powerful weapon that comes with exploding ammunition."
"In Shooty Fruity, you experience a combination of VR sniping with the happiness of a real job - a new form of multi-tasking gameplay that we call 'shoot and operate'," says Dan Sheridan, Communications Manager at the developer responsible for the game nDreams. The gameplay trailer shows pretty well what you have to do in "Shooty Fruity".
