History of the Textile Industry meets VR

The Museum Neuthal in Bäretswil is known for its exhibitions on industrialisation and the history of the textile industry in the Zurich Oberland. From 10 September to 1 October, the museum is showing the virtual reality (VR) film "Hanni and the Stormy Times of the Canton of Zurich" every Sunday.

In the Zürcher Oberländer Museum Neuthal, visitors can immerse themselves in the history of the people, buildings and technology that have shaped the region and large parts of Switzerland. Among other things, interested visitors can experience the production process for a piece of fabric with functioning historical machines.

For a short period of time, the museum invites visitors to enjoy a VR film that shows the spectacular changes in the canton of Zurich in the 19th century. The story is told through a fictional person named Hanni, who experienced all the upheavals herself. Viewers are immersed in the early days of the Swiss textile industry, iron construction and the struggle for more social achievements.

The film is included in the museum ticket.
