The Mürren region has recently been entertaining its guests with a virtual reality experience. And there are also good prospects for those staying at home.
We hope you all had a great New Year's Eve! New Year's Eve 2022 was the warmest since measurements began in large parts of Switzerland. What some may be happy about is another's sorrow.
Meanwhile, the lower-lying ski areas that cannot switch to alternative sports have to come up with something to ensure that the start of the season does not completely fall through. The Mürren ski area reaches an altitude of 2900 metres and is thus less affected by the lack of snow than others. Nevertheless, those responsible are continuing to expand the leisure area to keep guests happy in case of bad weather. A virtual reality facility was opened in the sports centre for the winter season. "People can play a virtual snowball fight there," says Rachel Arkin, tourism director Mürren.
Virtual snowball fight
Visitors can experience Mürren in a completely different way with a virtual snowball fight with Virtual Mürren Fun. With up to four players, two teams compete against each other and experience winter fun of a special kind all year round. Within five rounds and a total playing time of 15 minutes, the players immerse themselves in the magical winter landscape. Thanks to the latest wireless VR technology, you can enjoy carefree and unforgettable fun without any additional or heavy equipment. The game is suitable for everyone from the age of six and is sold in the Alpine Sports Centre Mürren played.
The prices are within the usual range for a VR experience:

360° Schilthorn view for those who stayed at home
If you don't feel like travelling to Mürren but would like to enjoy the beautiful panorama, you can do so with the 360 degree SCHILTHORN Mürren Tour. The first version of the destination project is live. The expansion with further photo points and seasons is in progress. New for the start page of a 360° panorama tour is the idea of using videos to show the region in a few seconds with moving images.
