Bronze for Switzerland when it comes to interest in Metavers

Who in Europe is most interested in the metaverse? According to a study by Walkme.com, people from France and the UK are most interested in the metaverse. Switzerland follows shortly after. The fewest searches for the topic come from Sweden.

A recently published study by Walkme.com examines how people in Europe feel about the trending topic of "metaverse" and in which countries there is the greatest enthusiasm for the new technologies.
With 1020 and 942 searches per million internet users respectively, residents of France and the UK are the most interested in the metaverse, followed by Switzerland in third place and Germany in fourth. Bringing up the rear is Sweden with 304 searches on the topic.

Study results

The following table shows the average number of online searches for the topic "Metaverse" (as at the beginning of February 2022) and also shows a corresponding extrapolation to one million internet users per country.
Rafael Sweary, President and Co-Founder of Walkme.com, said of the study: "The emergence of the metaverse has opened the door to infinite possibilities, blurring the line between the virtual and physical worlds."

The media have also increasingly focussed on the topic of metaverse in the last few weeks. Horizont, for example, launched a Seriesin which they ask industry personalities in Switzerland what they think of Metaverse, what expectations they associate with it and how they deal with it. Blick also took a closer look in an extensive Contribution and the question of whether the metaverse is just hype or whether it really has a future. The trade newspaper Bilanz also wonders whether it really is the next big thing and when it is likely to take off.

The first major events on the topic are also taking place. For example, on gfm True Talk Participants will gain an insight into the development and possibilities of the Metaverse. Among other things, they will discuss how companies can prepare for the metaverse and reach their customers there.
