When her son Nataniel was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, founder Nilofar Niazi left her career on Wall Street behind. From then on, she devoted herself to caring for her child and successfully established the neuro-rehabilitation centre TRAINM in Belgium. The revolutionary evidence-based therapy relies on intensity, repetition and specificity with the help of the latest technologies such as robotics, virtual reality, sensors, 3D cameras and neurogaming to best activate the activity-dependent plasticity of the brain.

"By repeating a specific movement thousands of times, you can get the functioning part of the brain to learn it again," says Nilofar Niazi. "A physiotherapist can do forty to fifty movements in half an hour. In a session at Nextherapy with a robot, it's up to a thousand repetitions."
