Alice in Wonderland

Test Report Alice in Wonderland

For over 150 years, Alice in Wonderland has enraptured generations. The whimsical story of the Queen of Hearts, the smoking caterpillar and the grinning cat has inspired the Ukrainian virtual reality company arvilab to create a super-beautiful masterpiece. In several levels, the developers bring the characters of the popular classic to life in a way never seen before. We have reviewed the title at Vrilliant tested.

Where better to experience the famous story of Alice in Wonderland than in VR? There is probably no other way to lose yourself so quickly in the magical world of Wonderland. Right at the beginning, the players can experience a cool effect: Please shrink once! Because only by taking the shrinking potion can you fit through the tiny door through which you enter the colourful Wonderland world in the role of Alice.

A fantastic voyage of discovery

As soon as you have passed the door, you take part in the whirlpool of events. We are tasked with uncovering the secrets of the Queen of Hearts, for she has cast a spell over the world of Wonderland.

Over several levels we walk through the tangled mazes of the world behind the mirrors, where everything is turned upside down. So we help the Hatter, who has got stuck in time, to sort out the chaos at the crazy tea party. Not so easy when you miss something. Afterwards, we also save the fairies who know the secret of the evil queen by following the tips of the smoking caterpillar. In the castle garden we are invited to a round of cricket and a painting lesson before sneaking into the castle. Many tricky challenges await us there, but we easily master them before we meet the evil Queen of Hearts at the end. Although the witch wounds me several times with her fireballs, we manage to save Wonderland together!

The developers use many VR-specific possibilities so that the players can immerse themselves in the world and perform actions that are not possible in real life. The game enchants me above all with its beautiful visual world. Those who value great graphics will be served by this title. I find the puzzles very complex and sometimes quite tricky. It definitely helps if you already have Escape Room and VR experience. But with a few tips from the game director in the right places, you can get through very well.

The title is suitable for 1-4 players and for ages 12 and up.
