Another VR arcade has opened its doors in Zurich. We visited VRilliant for a test and spoke to Roland, one of the founders.
Very not far from the Fusion Arena and the VR City another VR Centre was opened at Badenerstrasse 569 in the summer of 2020. The space of VRilliant is rather hidden and the cosy lobby is comparatively small. There is a reason for that. Roland explains in a short conversation that they would also use the income to finance the development of their own games and that the room serves as a test area.
Top price-performance ratio with generous selection
VR fans are definitely at a very good address here: Vrilliant's price-performance ratio compares extremely well with other providers. You can play for as little as CHF 37 per hour. You can try out several titles and change accordingly if you don't like a game. Vrilliant wants to offer its visitors an exciting VR experience, from AAA games to its own developments.
Since our own productions are still in development, we decided to test Chernobyl and then Alice in Wonderland called us. The test reports will follow here on VR Room in the next few days.
Furthermore, the following games are currently on offer at Vrilliant:
- QuiVR, a tower defence game where players use arrows to fight the enemy onslaught.
- LA Deadzone, a classic zombie shooter, Roland's recommendation, for those who like action
- Half Life: Alyx, an action-packed shooter against aliens - the top single-player title according to Roland
- Battlewake, a pirate adventure where you set sail on the high seas
But smaller games like Beatsaber can also be played on site, so that it doesn't get boring while waiting.
Own production is in the final phase
The first own production is to be released as early as next spring. Five people are currently working on the development. A shooter is planned in which the team has to carry out a rescue in New York - under time pressure, of course. The team has 30 minutes, then the city is blown up.
The multiplayer game will give players the opportunity to move freely in space. "We have found that this is the most fun for people and that the immersion in the virtual world works best this way," Roland explains. Horror, the Escape Room specialist is sure, lends itself very well to VR. He adds, "In VR, the players are in the middle of the scene instead of just in front of a flat screen. That increases the tension."
Vrilliant wants to offer its own game to other VR arcades via existing licensing platforms once it is out.
Then we are curious and look forward to the upcoming test.
