VR belongs in the Swiss exhibition

In a pop-up house in Stuttgart, Switzerland presents itself as a technology location, among other things. This aspect is supported by numerous digital equipment - from LED displays to virtual reality applications.

The motto of the Pop-up House of Switzerland facility is: So Switzerland. Away with the usual clichés, bring on the unusual! It is intended to show the innovative, original and sustainable sides of Switzerland and, as a temporary communication platform, to promote new cooperation in business, science, politics and culture. Because the image of Switzerland in Germany is generally positive, but clichéd, explains Ernst Steinmann, the Swiss Consul General: "People associate us with cheese, chocolate, watches and knives. Hardly known are Switzerland's innovative strength and its importance as a science and technology location."

Digital support

To highlight these strengths, ICT equipped the rooms with extensive digital equipment. This includes, for example, an LED wall and various displays, projection technology for various installations, camera and sound technology as well as streaming equipment. The company also installed a sound shower. Atelier Türke was also involved in the interior design.

On the one hand, Switzerland as a centre of innovation will be showcased in the pop-up house in collaboration with the Federal Institutes of Technology in Zurich and Lausanne - with a new generation of life-like robots and an exhibition reflecting on the digital transformation and its impact on society. On the other hand, various technologies will be presented in collaboration with Swiss start-ups.

Virtual Reality, immersive training

One highlight is the virtual reality installation Birdly, about which we have already spoken several times. reported: With arms spread wide, virtual reality goggles on your eyes and headphones in your ears, you float above downtown Zurich, moving your wings to gain altitude.

There is also the immersive Game Exercube, which uses projections to provide an interactive fitness experience.

There is also an area for tourist Switzerland and a drone course. In addition, lectures and demonstrations of various kinds are always planned.

The pop-up house with a size of 2,000 square metres will be present in Stuttgart's city centre until 31 October 2021. After this premiere, further locations are planned in Italy, France and other countries.
