Visioguide Frÿburg 1606

The new Visioguide "Frÿburg 1606" was nominated for a tourism award last year. A mixture of audio, video and augmented reality takes visitors to 17th century Fribourg.

"Frÿburg1606" is not just an audio guide - it is a unique experience. Visitors discover buildings that have disappeared, get to know people in their everyday lives through the various film sequences and immerse themselves in one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Europe - with its history and legends. Suddenly, long vanished city walls and fortifications appear, there are interior views of buildings and information about the history of the city. The companion, Philippe, as well as the city map from 1606, guide visitors through space and time in a modern way.

The tour includes 20 stops, including the Workshop, a 52 square metre 3-D model of the city of Fribourg based on an engraving from the early 17th century. "Frÿburg 1606" can be mastered in three hours, but it is recommended to plan half a day for it.

It can be accessed via the "Fribourg Tourisme AR" app, which can be downloaded for 5 francs. It can also be rented from the city's tourist office as a tablet with headset for 12 francs. A good idea for a summer excursion.
