VR-Animes von Bandai Namco

VR anime from Bandai Namco

HTC has entered into a partnership with Bandai Namco Pictures. As part of this collaboration, anime content from BN Pictures will be transferred to virtual reality.

New services will reportedly be available on Viveport in the coming months, allowing users to experience new immersive anime and virtual social interactions. BN Pictures is known for producing original animation series such as "Aikatsu!", "Battle Spirits" and "Tiger & Bunny". In addition, BN Pictures also creates anime based on successful comic titles such as "Gintama" and "Sergeant Keroro".

Viveport and Bandai Namco Pictures want to work closely together to create and develop a broad-based VR ecosystem. The new partnership will initially cover the integration of animation content as well as the development and distribution resources of both companies.

"The future of virtual reality is about delivering experiences and exploring and realising infinite possibilities," says Joseph Lin, President of Viveport. "We are honoured to become BN Pictures' first VR partner. Through this collaboration, we can take animated content to a new, higher level and push boundaries to unlock the full potential of virtual reality. In the coming months, anime content will be available on Viveport and more virtual experiences will be made available to our audience. More exciting content is also in the pipeline!"

Ozaki Masayuki, President and CEO of Bandai Namco Pictures, added: "We at Bandai Namco Pictures are an animation production house that has produced and owns numerous TV series, OVAs, web animations and feature films. In particular, we continue to actively produce original works. By combining our original animation, planning and production expertise that we have developed over the years with HTC's advanced technological capabilities and strength as a communication platform, we will be able to create an environment where fans can enjoy shared experiences that transcend physical boundaries - as if they are immersed directly into the world of our creations from anywhere in the world. We are very much looking forward to further developing this newly created space with our fans."
