Minecraft Earth is being discontinued

Microsoft and Mohjang wanted to establish a competitor for "Pokémon Go" with the mobile augmented reality game "Minecraft Earth", but this is no longer the case. The game will be cancelled this summer.

It has now been announced that the Minecraft Earth servers will be shut down on 30 June 2021. After this date, the title will no longer be playable. Mojang justifies this with the coronavirus pandemic: "Minecraft Earth was built around free movement and collaborative play - two things that have become nearly impossible in the current global situation. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to reallocate our resources to other areas that provide value to the Minecraft community and end support for Minecraft Earth in June 2021."

Before "Minecraft Earth" comes to an end, however, a final update has been made available which, among other things, removes real money transactions, drastically reduces ruby costs and delivers all complete and previously unreleased content. All players with deposited ruby credit that they have not spent will receive "Minecoins", which can be used on the "Minecraft" marketplace to buy skin and texture packs, maps or mini-games. Further information can be found on the official side.
