HTC Vive is a partner of the Venice Film Festival

HTC Vive is a partner of the Biennale di Venezia for the 77th Venice International Film Festival, the company has revealed. Accessible from 2 to 12 September 2020, the festival's official virtual reality selection, "Venice VR Expanded", is available online in its entirety for the first time.

Venice's VR selection is actually being shown on the island of Lazzaretto Vecchio, but this year, VR enthusiasts can enjoy the 25 virtual reality experiences and games on the island due to corona. The members of the international jury of "Venice VR Expanded 2020" are renowned judges such as Hideo Kojima (creator of "Metal Gear Solid" and "Death Stranding"), Celine Tricart (chair of the international jury of the Venice Virtual Reality selection), winner of a Lion for Best VR Work, and Asif Kapadia, director and Oscar winner. The following prizes will be awarded: Grand Jury Prize for "Best VR Work", "Best VR User Experience" and "Best VR Story".

Among the highlights of the 25 VR experiences and games and nine available 360-degree films are "Gnomes and Goblins. "The Room VR: A Dark Matter", "Down the Rabbit Hole", "The Metamovie presents: Alien Rescue", a virtual live performance directed by Jason Moore on the NEOS platform and "Il Dubbio".
