Apple said to be working with Valve on AR headset

Apple und Valve, das für die Online-Plattform „Steam“ bekannt ist, sollen zusammen an einem Augmented-Reality-Headset arbeiten. Die Nachricht stammt von der Tech-Seite „DigiTimes“which is quite well known, but not always right in its claims.

Wie berichtet wird, soll das sogenannte „AR Head Mounted Display Devices“ noch in der zweiten Jahreshälfte 2020 auf den Markt kommen. Der Bericht fügt hinzu, dass Apple ausserdem mit Quanta Computer und Pegatron kooperiert, um die AR-Headsets herzustellen. Details zum Funktionsumfang oder wie das Gerät aussehen könnte, werden nicht genannt.

The rumour comes from anonymous industry sources and should therefore be taken with the necessary caution. However, one hears Not the first time, dass Apple Augmented-Reality-Pläne hat (Stichwort „Apple Glasses“). Zudem wäre Valve durchaus als Partner geeignet. Das Unternehmen hat zuletzt die VR-Brille Valve Index published and contributed to HTC Vive.
