The first year in Zurich was a success. Now Pandally AG is opening a Fusion Arena pop-up store on Marktgasse in Bern on 26 April for fans of full-body virtual reality. Two to ten participants can experience adventures together, explore foreign planets and immerse themselves in mysterious Mayan legends. The team experience takes centre stage. The pop-up store is a temporary facility. Once construction work is complete in the fourth quarter of 2019, the Fusion Arena will move to Bern's Wankdorf Centre.
The first Fusion Arena pop-up store can be found at Marktgasse 46 in the heart of Bern from 26 April 2019. On 250 m², groups of up to ten players can immerse themselves in virtual worlds and get to know the leisure activities of the future. At the same time, teamwork is encouraged, as every game requires cooperation.
Right from the start, there are four offerings: the two peaceful adventure games "Diamond Skull" and "Tikal", the zombie shooter "Patient Zero" and the virtual escape room "Cube VR".
"Bern has always been at the top of our wish list for expansion. With the Wankdorf Centre, we have found an attractive location with good transport links. Marktgasse is the ideal solution to bridge the gap during the construction phase," explains Ronny Tobler, CEO of Pandally AG, which developed and operates the project. Tobler (37) spent a large part of his career at Microsoft Switzerland. He is the founder and head of Pandally AG.
Ten players can interact at the same time!
The centrepiece of the Fusion Arena is the combination of tracking system, backpack PCs and head-mounted displays. The concept was developed with "True-VR-Systems", a brand of Red Cube GmbH in Dietlikon. Dozens of highly sensitive cameras ensure that every player and every interactive element in the virtual world is immediately displayed in the correct place. The technology enables free perception and movement.
"Even a year after opening in Zurich, the Fusion Arena is still the only place in the world where ten players can interact at the same time. We are delighted with the success of the concept and the early expansion," says Philip Lacoste from True-VR-Systems.
