Oculus Go is working on improving the quality of VR videos. So if you're not quite satisfied with the material you've seen so far, there will soon be a remedy, although of course you'll have to wait and see how the final result will perform.
As the developer legend John Carmack at Twitter bekannt gegeben hat, arbeitet er momentan an einem neuen und hochauflösenden Abspielformat für VR-Videos, das bei Oculus Go und neueren Gear-VR-Smartphones zum Einsatz kommen soll. John Carmack stellt sogar eine „5K x 5K“-Auflösung bei 60 Bildern pro Sekunde in Aussicht.
„Es wird ein grosser Download sein, aber es wird eine neue Messlatte für immersive Videoqualität setzen,“ so John Carmack zu einer neu gerenderten Version des VR-Kurzfilms „Henry“, womit das verbesserte Videoformat demonstriert werden soll. „Henry“ wurde von den mittlerweile geschlossenen Oculus Story Studios produziert. Wann die neue Fassung erscheinen wird, ist nicht bekannt.
