A kind of VR headset for Switch

Unlike Sony, Nintendo currently has no interest in virtual reality, which is why there will be no VR headset for the Switch in the foreseeable future. The Japanese manufacturer Thanko at least has something similar for the Switch in its product portfolio.

This is Eye Theatre, which is somehow a kind of VR headset, but in the end it's not. It's actually a headset that you strap around your head, allowing you to do without the Switch's TV and small handheld screen. Real VR content is not possible, but you can look at a virtual 120-inch screen. This definitely has some advantages, as you can enjoy the Switch better from a lying position, for example.

Eye Theatre offers a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, which is unfortunately lower than the 1080p you see on the TV. A small side note: The headset can also be used with smartphones and apparently other devices if a USB-C connection is available. Eye Theatre will be released in Japan in September 2018 at a price of 22,780 yen, which is equivalent to around 204 Swiss francs. However, it is not known whether Eye Theatre will be released in Europe.
