The upcoming animated film Rainbow Crow is based on an old legend of the Lenape Indians. It is about a paradisiacal animal world before the arrival of humans. The world was always sunny and warm and the forest animals were happy until the snow came. When the ice age comes and the animals are in distress because of the persistent cold, a colourful bird appears out of nowhere and gives the animals new hope.
Highly authentic, Indian fable
The animated film is a mixture of musical and picture book and takes the audience to a dreamlike place. The story, however, did not spring from some new fantasy. Randy Edmonds, the 82-year-old tribal elder of two Indian tribes and fighter for Indian rights, even advises the producers and thus vouches for the historical authenticity of the story. He will also lend his voice to the narrator.
Already in the teaser clip you can see that the VR experience will be very colourful and with all the animated animals will bring a lot of Jö effects.

John Legend provides the background to the fantastic VR story
Famous names are also catered for. The Baobab Studios have teamed up with R&B musician and producer John Legend to bring the Native American fable to virtual reality. Legend will not only serve as executive producer, but will also lend his voice to the titular bird Rainbow Crow.
Baobab Studios has already made a name for itself in the VR field, producing high-quality 360-degree animated films such as "Invasion", or "Asteroids". The latter also contains interactive elements and celebrated its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. With 31 million US dollars, Baobab Studios is one of the best-funded VR studios. Among the investors is the traditional Hollywood film studio Twentieth Century Fox.
The first episode of Rainbow Crow will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. The festival takes place from 19 to 30 April in New York. When and for which platforms the film will be released is still unclear.
