VR Gladiators in the Colosseum

Die Anzahl von guten 360 Grad Videos auf diversen Plattformen nimmt mehr und mehr zu. Waren es anfangs vor allem viele Demofilme ohne wirklich starke Inhalte, steigert sich nun die technische und inhaltliche Umsetzung massiv. Dies demonstriert uns ganz aktuell das ZDF mit ihrer neusten 360 Produktion. Das ZDF hat schon seit längerer Zeit eine VR App für iOS und Android. Ihre neuste Produktion dafür heisst  „360° Gladiatoren im Kolosseum“

This 10-minute VR film offers a journey back in time to the year 80 AD to what was probably the most exciting spectacle of antiquity. The film serves as an accompanying programme to the Terra X documentary "A Day in Ancient Rome". The viewer can be there live in the arena when the gladiators fight in the Colosseum. Directly and in close proximity, as if you were standing next to the protagonists.

Geboten wird mit „360° Gladiatoren im Kolosseum“ eine 10-minütige, vollimmersive 3D- und 360 Grad Dokumentation. Der Film setzt dabei neue Standards in der Qualität von VR-Filmen. Die Production company Faber Courtial verbindet dabei räumliche Filmaufnahmen von realen Schauspielern mit einer im Computer erstellten, vollimmersiven Kulisse (CGI). Um dies realisieren zu können, wurde eigens ein neues Kamerasystem entwickelt. Der Film ist ausgezeichnet produziert und bietet eine grossartiges VR-Erlebnis.
