Helvetia's advisory business is now also possible virtually. Trained specialists answer customer questions in the Metaverse.
Helvetia Insurance is going one step further in terms of customer convenience and digitalisation: from now on, advice from an insurance expert from Helvetia is also part of the service. Anyone who has VR glasses can take part in a consultation with their avatar in the virtual meeting room, the insurer writes in a statement. In addition to Helvetia Switzerland, the online insurance company Smile, which belongs to the group, is also present in the Metaverse, as we here already reported.
Exploring a new world together
In the first phase, Helvetia primarily wants to gain experience in the Metaverse with regard to newly emerging customer needs and technological developments. Holding information events and providing advice in the Metaverse are the first pilot applications for the company. Jan Kundert, Head of Customer and Market Management and member of the Executive Management of Helvetia Switzerland: "We are at the beginning of a technological development that opens up a completely new world for us. We are entering this world together with our customers. This is how we learn what their needs are in the virtual space." In a later phase, new products are also conceivable, Kundert continues, for example if the need for new insurance solutions should accentuate in the virtual world.
Investing in the customer experience
In the new advisory service, immersion and interaction are intended to create added value. Helvetia believes that immersion in the metaverse will result in new and exciting interactions with customers. These interactions should also result in insights that help to further optimise the customer experience in virtual space. "Making access to our services simple and progressive is a high priority for us," explains Ralph Jeitziner, Head of Sales and Member of the Executive Management of Helvetia Switzerland: "With the helvetia 20.25 strategy, we are pursuing the ambition of setting standards in customer convenience and access. In the Metaverse, our customers can interact with a specialist and have facts explained to them. This is a completely different experience than reading texts on a website. We are looking forward to seeing how this new experience is received.
Book appointments online
Anyone who wants a consultation in the Metaverse books the appointment online - in exactly the same way as for a telephone consultation or a meeting in the agency. Helvetia then sends the access data by e-mail. The interested customers then meet as avatars with the Helvetia specialist in the virtual meeting room. After the consultation, they receive the link to the personal offer or the digital contract by text message or e-mail. For the time being, only a few Helvetia employees have been equipped with the necessary virtual reality glasses and trained accordingly. The virtual room is therefore set up in such a way that other people can be connected via conventional video conference.
