Meta Festival

A festival on the virtual playground

The digital agency Dept is organising the "Meta Festival" on 28 June. At the virtual event, participants can network with leading brands, Web3 innovators and crypto experts.

The Meta Festival is back. After the first edition in 2021, this year the Meta Festival invites people from all over the world to take a look inside the metaverse. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from leading brands, Web3 innovators and technologists and network with each other for 24 hours in a virtual playground.

The event will take place on Tuesday 28 June in Metapolis - the virtual world of the festival. All you need to take part is an internet-enabled device and a stable internet connection, as detailed in a press release.

Renowned guests

The speakers at the Meta Festival include technologists, Web3, blockchain and crypto experts, startup founders, artists, writers, creatives and many more.

The first confirmed speakers include brands such as H&M, Calvin Klein, Headspace, Wired, Volkswagen Group, Coca Cola, Netflix, Paramount, PwC and Heineken, as well as well-known names from the metaverse such as Gmoney, Cathy Hackl, and Dressx.

"At the Meta Festival, we are demonstrating how brands will have the opportunity to meet customers where their attention is in the future," said Yann Wanner, Head of Business Development at Dept Switzerland, in the press release. "In digital worlds, brands and artists can offer their fans personalised and meaningful experiences and products."

The festival revolves around five themes: Web3, Immersive Experiences, Diehard Tech, Pop Culture and the Betterverse. In addition to these five stages with ongoing sessions, the event will feature a live programme tailored to each region, taking place between 2pm and 5pm local time in Singapore, Amsterdam and New York.

The Meta Festival is open to everyone who is interested in meta-festival.com but there are only a limited number of tickets available. The festival was founded by global digital agency Dept and metaverse company Journee, both known for creating some of the world's most recognisable immersive experiences.

As the topics of Metaverse and Web3 are also becoming increasingly relevant for Swiss customers, Dept Switzerland is dedicating this year's summer party on 16 June entirely to Web3. Interested parties can here register for free for an evening filled with digital art, talks by local entrepreneurs, performances and a DJ set by Outer Space.
