Swiss startup BeWell.help launches mental health platform

Mental health problems have increased by 40% in the last ten years - yet the topic remains taboo. As a result, more than a third of all sufferers do not seek the professional help they urgently need out of shame. The Swiss start-up BeWell.help now wants to change this and has therefore developed the first fully comprehensive platform for mental health. On their online platform, sufferers can find a suitable therapist, make anonymous appointments and even book virtual reality therapies.

As a study by statista shows, more than a third of all those affected by mental stress do not seek professional help because they are ashamed. At the same time, mental health problems are becoming increasingly common - the increase in children and adolescents is particularly worrying. According to the Federal Office of Public Health, the coronavirus pandemic has also led to an increase in pre-existing stress and vulnerabilities.

Swiss start-up makes help easily accessible

The existing urgency for an expanded range of support centres for those affected has prompted the Swiss start-up BeWell.help inspired us to develop a platform that takes care of various aspects of mental health. CEO and founder Carmen Brunner says: "Mental health encompasses many different aspects, which is why we want to offer those affected a broad spectrum to take care of their mental health. In addition to various supporters, our platform also offers tips on suitable excursions and retreats as well as helpful blog posts."

Anonymously, via video call or virtual reality therapy

Thanks to BeWell.help, people seeking help can immediately find and book free appointments with qualified psychotherapists and hold online sessions with the highest safety standards directly via the platform. Another unique feature of the platform is the customisability of the service. Thanks to the detailed matching system with 17 possible filter groups, those affected can filter according to their individual needs and thus find the therapist who best suits them and their life situation. Sessions can also be booked via video call, telephone, chat, email or in the practice. BeWell.help has also developed the option of making contact anonymously so that the entry point is as low-threshold as possible.

Virtual reality therapies are also available at BeWell.help. VR therapist Marc Stoll says: "VR therapy can be a great addition, especially for children and adolescents. However, the playful approach and controllability of the situation also ensures relaxation and confidence for adults."
