We recently told you a little more about the newly opened VR centre in Zurich called Virtual Room. Now we would like to tell you about our 3-team experience with as few spoilers as possible.
When asked what we would like to see that evening, a quiet, beautiful game or a more action-packed one, we have separate opinions, so we decide to try out both. We head off to our three separate boxes to test Timetravel Chapter I. Goggles on, controllers on and let's go!
The effect of the whole group seeing themselves together in VR is very funny. Of course, we only see ourselves as avatars in the virtual world. We mutate into an action hero team whose mission is to save the world. The alpha team disappeared during their last mission and important information was lost, the story is explained to us. Our goal is to recover it at all costs.
Puzzles with support
Although we all have enough experience with VR, it takes quite a lot of support from the game master before we really start working together. Despite the clear advice we were given beforehand: "Communication is very important!", everyone initially puzzles around a bit on their own. With a few small nudges in the right direction, we then move forward step by step.
We travel through time to places such as ancient Egypt and the moon landing to follow the path of the lost agents and save the world. As promised by the store manager, the graphics are really beautifully done and there is something to discover everywhere you look. The puzzles are also well thought out and we always need a little hint to help us progress. Our team definitely can't break the time record. We spend around 40 minutes in the first game.
After a short, necessary breather, we continue with Chapter II.
How time flies
In this story, the Earth is once again under threat. Only a few energy sources that can combat this plague have been discovered at various times, according to the description. In terms of gameplay, Chapter II is basically the same as the first chapter. Only this experience is a lot more action-packed and you can take much less time to look around. There's always something going on somewhere. Once again, highly exotic locations such as the Aztec temple and the sunken pirate ship await us. As in Chapter I, there is also a small final battle here, in which we have to shoot at a few enemies.
How quickly time flies. We spent over an hour in this exciting world and obviously really lost track of time. Really cool!
