ROUVY, a global leader in mobile virtual training applications for cyclists and runners, has planned a world premiere. Participants in five digital races will Zurich, Basel, Lucerne, Luganoand Lausanne linked. All races will be held live at the Saalsporthalle Zurich City this weekend, 19-21 November 2021.
Digital Swiss 5 is a digital cycling event for professionals and a limited number of amateur cyclists. The race is held on smart indoor bikes that are connected to each other via the ROUVY platform. The ROUVY digital training platform, about which we have already reportedis one of the largest platforms for indoor training in the world. With the help of augmented reality and 3D cyclist avatars, cycling routes from different parts of the world are brought into the user's home. Hundreds of routes in augmented reality (Mont Ventoux, Stelvio, Cap de Formentor,...) as well as almost 10,000 real routes help athletes stay in shape and motivated to ride at any time and in any weather.
The atmosphere of the sports event, which takes place from 19.1 to 21 November in the Saalsporthallte Zürich City, will be enhanced by a light show and a DJ in the arena. There will also be stands where interesting partner products will be presented.
Competing against the whole world
"The athletes in the Zurich Arena will compete against each other and against online participants from all over the world to achieve the best time. They will use interactive indoor training bikes that can be synchronised with the ROUVY application are connected. The racers have to complete five routes through five Swiss cities within three days. The event is like a stage race in digital form," ROUVY CEO Petr Samek reveals the details. He adds: "Even though we already have considerable international experience, this event will be a world premiere and we hope it will be a lot of fun for everyone."
Parallel to the amateur race in the Saalsporthalle, the same race series will also take place in the delivered digitally (registrations open). Anyone with a Smart Trainer can take part from home.
