Action-Fahrspiel Runner erscheint für PC- & PS5-VR

Action driving game Runner to be released for PC & PS5 VR

Truant Pixel has the VR action driving game "Runner" in the making, which interestingly enough will also be released for the PlayStation 5's virtual reality system alongside PC VR headsets, which we don't yet know if it will be called PlayStation VR 2.

"Runner" has neither a date nor a release period, but the first gameplay scenes can be viewed in the trailer. The developers were inspired by anime such as "Akira", "Ghost in the Shell", "Patlabor" and more. "Runner VR features a deliberately classic aesthetic driven by themes of lo-fi as well as cassette futurism and inspired by anime such as Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor and more. And we've only shown a fraction of the encounters and environments you'll traverse," says Truant Pixel.

"Runner" is an arcade-inspired virtual reality driving action game, according to the developers. You take on the role of Mina, a renegade mod courier who is at the centre of a massive chase through a huge city. "Beginning in the heart of Presidium, the neon-lit capital of the mining colony on the moon N-351, Mina's only escape route is the Thoroughfare, a massive high-speed highway that winds through the entire sprawling colony complex," it says. You'll be pursued by the Caldara Corporation's forces as you race through seven sectors, fending off relentless waves of autonomous combat drones.
