Diving to the seabed with Biolum

IKO, Reynard Film and Prefrontal Cortex are developing a VR experience called "Biolum", which allows users to dive to the bottom of the sea to discover exciting and sometimes bizarre worlds.

According to the makers, "Biolum" is an interactive and narrative VR science fiction experience that immerses VR users in the mysterious beauty of the deep sea. However, the dive takes a shocking turn for the worse. As deep-sea diver Rachael, you are lowered several hundred metres into the depths in a safety lift, but then the light goes out.

"Inspired by the beauty of the deep sea, Biolum blurs the lines between biological truth and science fiction, tackling existential themes and the cosmic wonder of the great unknown." it says. "Biolum" will be released in October 2021 for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windows Mixed Reality and Valve Index. The interactive VR experience is set to last around 25 minutes.
