Werewolves Within: Film based on the VR game

"Werewolves Within", based on the VR multiplayer game of the same name, which has been available for Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR and HTC Vive since December 2016, is coming to cinemas. However, it is a regular production and not a VR film.

Ubisoft has entered into a deal with IFC Films, which has secured the rights to it. "Werewolves Within" will be released in cinemas on 25 June 2021 and on digital platforms on 2 July 2021, although these details initially only apply to the North American market. Josh Ruben ("Scare Me") is responsible for the direction, while the screenplay is by Mishna Wolff ("I'm Down").

"Werewolves Within" takes place in the small town of Beaverfield, according to the official description. When a blizzard traps a group of residents in a local inn, it's up to newly arrived forest ranger Finn (played by Sam Richardson) and postal worker Cecily (played by Milana Vayntrub) to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun terrorising the small community.

This is the cast: Sam Richardson ("Veep," "Detroiters"), Milana Vayntrub ("This Is Us"), George Basil ("Crashing"), Sarah Burns ("Barry"), Michael Chernus ("Tommy/CBS"), Catherine Curtin ("Orange Is The New Black"), Wayne Duvall ("The Hunt"), Harvey Guillén ("What We Do In The Shadows"), Rebecca Henderson ("Russian Doll"), Cheyenne Jackson ("30 Rock"), Michaela Watkins ("Brittany Runs A Marathon") and Glenn Fleshler ("True Detective").
