Manor AR Weihnachten

Send animated Christmas greetings with Manor via QR code

Nothing is more beautiful than the personal presentation of a lovingly selected Christmas gift. In times of Corona, this is not always possible. That's why Manor is making sure that individual messages can also be delivered remotely this year. With a gift idea that can be personalised using augmented reality (AR).

Customers of Manor scan a QR code with their mobile phone this Christmas and tell their loved ones what's behind their gift choice via an animated video greeting. Thanks to augmented reality, the video messages appear in the gift recipient's surroundings. This turns Christmas into a heartwarming experience despite the physical distance.

"Anyone who chooses a gift for family members and friends puts a lot of thought into the purchase. Often there are stories behind them that are emotionally touching. We want to give our customers the opportunity to send individually designed Christmas messages in a new way and tell their personal stories in the process. Spatial distances are digitally bridged in this way," says Jennifer Frame, Brand Director at Manor.

The idea: Experiencing Christmas 2020 together

Manor wants everyone to enjoy Christmas together and has therefore come up with something special: A way to drop by your loved one's living room after all and surprise everyone with a Christmas greeting. After scanning the QR code, a gift appears that opens when touched. As if by magic, virtual elements and a Christmas card appear. And then suddenly the person who is missing from the Christmas table can be seen. With a self-recorded video message, he or she speaks up - in the midst of the festively decorated surroundings in which one finds oneself. It is a magical message that enriches Christmas this year.

How does the QR gift message work?

When buying a gift, customers receive a card with a personal QR code and can record their own video message with their smartphone. Thanks to augmented reality, virtual elements such as fir trees and stars become visible in the real environment. The bottom side of the greeting card contains a name field. This is detached and enclosed in the parcel. When they receive the parcel, the recipients can scan the QR code on the greeting card and see the video message on their own smartphone.

Well then! Merry Christmas dear readers.
