Electronic Arts and Motive Studios have released the space action game "Star Wars: Squadrons", which can be played entirely in VR on PC and PlayStation 4, both in single player and multiplayer.
In addition to 5v5 multiplayer battles with iconic starfighters, you will also experience an original story that takes place after the events of "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi". In this new story, you will find yourself on the front lines of a conflict experienced from the alternating perspectives of two pilots, one in the service of the New Republic, the other with the Galactic Empire.
It says: "Star Wars: Squadrons allows you to play in virtual reality on PS4 and PC, so players can feel every drift and evasive manoeuvre as if they were in the cockpit themselves. Mastering the skills and controls to become an ace pilot of the Star Wars universe takes practice."
"As a lifelong Star Wars fan, it's been an incredible experience to bring this space combat experience to life in a way that truly does Star Wars justice," says Ian Frazier, Creative Director at Motive Studios. "It all starts in the cockpit, the centre of the action. We worked hand-in-hand with Lucasfilm to better represent a pilot's perspective and reflect the aesthetic of the films. This allowed us to create an authentic Star Wars gaming experience that puts players right in the pilot's seat. We look forward to bringing this experience to players around the world so they can fight battles together across the galaxy."
"We are always looking for ways to bring new Star Wars stories and experiences to our fans," said Douglas Reilly, Vice-President at Lucasfilm Games. "Star Wars: Squadrons transports players into one of the most tumultuous conflicts between the New Republic and the Galactic Empire, where the outcome of the war is yet to be seen and the fate of the galaxy is still up in the air. We look forward to giving players the opportunity to live out their own Star Wars pilot fantasy and experience this original story."
