Hallenbad Männedorf

Diving with whales in the Männedorf non-swimmer pool

A new attraction has recently been added to the Männedorf indoor pool: snorkelling with video goggles. The innovative indoor pool in the canton of Zurich now offers a spectacular experience in a class of its own, which is currently the only one of its kind in Switzerland.

Under the motto "Ride the new wave with us", Bäderbetriebe Männedorf has included many innovative ideas in its programme, with virtual reality snorkelling arousing particular interest.

Experience the ocean or outer space almost weightlessly for 5 minutes

Who wouldn't want to feel like they're in a coral reef surrounded by colourful fish and music? Using waterproof virtuality goggles (and attached to the floor with an anchor), you can experience an extraordinary experience up close.

Tim Grossenbacher, Head of Pool Operations, is visibly proud of the newly launched idea: "Initial reactions show us that this new feature is very much to the taste of our visitors and that this dream world with a 360° panoramic view is triggering completely new bathing pleasures." Three different themed worlds are currently available every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm.

After a short introduction, and under constant observation, you immerse yourself in a fascinating world with completely new dimensions. A fun and adventurous experience where perception and reality become blurred and you will never want to emerge again.

Reservation is necessary due to high demand

The cost is CHF 10 per person and film. The minimum age is 10 years. For those who don't know: Männedorf is located on the right bank of Lake Zurich in the district of Meilen in the canton of Zurich. Due to high demand, bookings must be made in advance. So call 044 922 14 84 to make sure you get this fantastic kick.

Tried and tested offer

As we know, the idea is not entirely new. At the end of 2018, for example, you could already Nettebad and in the Therme Erding experience the virtual water world, as our report showed back then. And back in 2017, the first blogger reported on his VR snorkelling experience, as you can read here. Read have.
