PSVR hardware is obsolete & Sony knows it

Sony Interactive Entertainment has not yet made an official announcement, but it can be assumed that PlayStation VR 2 will also be released at some point after the PlayStation 5, perhaps within the first 1-2 years. And according to one opinion, this is quite necessary.

Patrick O'Luanaigh, CEO of nDreams, a company specialising in VR content, believes that a new PlayStation VR is definitely needed as the hardware is now outdated: "I think Sony knows that they need to update their hardware if they want VR to last beyond the next year or two. Because it's outdated and it will be even more outdated by then. I would be very surprised if they didn't continue to support VR."

And he added: "But I wouldn't expect it to be announced at the same time as the PlayStation 5. This year the focus has to be on the core business. So I think they're going to put all their focus on the PS5 this year. If that's solid, we'll see what they do then."
