Half-Life 2 dank Mod in VR spielbar

Half-Life 2 in VR thanks to mod

Shortly after the release of "Half-Life: Alyx", the first mods have appeared that make it possible to play the shooter without a VR headset, but you can also do it quite differently, which is what happened with the classic "Half-Life 2".

A modder has used the Source 2 engine from "Half-Life: Alyx" to implement at least the beginning of "Half-Life 2" as a VR version. The modder "Vect0R" has uploaded his work to YouTube to demonstrate what improvements have been made since the original source engine of "Half-Life 2" in 2004.

The mod, which is currently not yet available to the public, has only been in the works since 24 March 2020, which is why it's exciting to see what else is possible. "I took the original map file, converted it to Source 2 format and added it to Half-Life: Alyx. In the process, I also converted assets from Half-Life 2 to Half-Life: Alyx," said the modder, who added that he was limited by the fact that Valve's Source 2 SDK is not yet publicly available.
