Vive Cosmos Elite bundled with Half-Life: Alyx

HTC Vive has confirmed that the Vive Cosmos Elite will ship alongside Valve's VR-exclusive title Half-Life: Alyx. Vive Cosmos Elite is released worldwide today and, according to the manufacturer, "combines the power of external tracking with the flexibility of the Cosmos platform to meet the demands of even the most pampered VR enthusiasts".

Details of Vive Cosmos Elite

• Vive Cosmos is a modular, PC-based premium VR system that grows with the needs of its users. For example, the headset's faceplate is interchangeable and can be customised with a range of Vive accessories, such as the Vive Wireless Adapter. All Cosmos headsets offer the same impressive graphics capabilities (2,880 x 1,700 combined pixel resolution) and comfort as the innovative flip-up design that transports users into - and out of - their virtual world with ease.
• In addition to the features of the Cosmos series, the Vive Cosmos Elite comes with a pre-installed External Tracking Faceplate, two SteamVR Base Stations and two Vive controllers. The External Tracking Faceplate can be used with Base Station versions 1.0 and 2.0, as well as the original Vive and Vive Pro controllers, and is easily exchanged for the original faceplate that comes with the Vive Cosmos.
• Using Lighthouse base technology, Cosmos Elite users experience the power and precision of SteamVR tracking. Vive Cosmos Elite also supports the existing Vive range of peripherals such as the Vive Wireless Adapter for a wireless VR experience and the Vive Tracker, which enables unprecedented freedom in VR control.
