When you decide to have cosmetic surgery, you usually want to know exactly what you will look like afterwards. Until now, this was not possible, but thanks to technology, this has now changed. At the Kuzbari Centre in Vienna, women who want to have their breasts enlarged can see the result in advance with the help of virtual reality glasses.
20 years ago, those who underwent cosmetic surgery usually didn't talk about it. Those days are now over. Beauty surgery has become socially acceptable. The market is more popular and so there is room for innovation.
Looking into the future with VR glasses
Thanks to the internet and numerous testimonials, patients are well-informed, unlike in the past. For this reason, they want to know everything about the operation and, above all, the final result. To fulfil this wish, the Kuzbari Centre is the first clinic in Austria to use a new virtual reality system. Crisalix is a 3D computer simulation of the body area to be treated, which is primarily offered in the context of breast augmentation. "In contrast to other 3D simulations, Crisalix is a mobile system and therefore very patient-friendly. First, an all-round image is taken using a special 3D scanner. The image is then assembled into a model within a few seconds and is now ready for processing. Volume adjustments can be made manually according to the available implant sizes," explains Draxler.
Doubts as to whether you will be satisfied with the result
Crisalix can only be used for breast augmentation. Alongside minimally invasive procedures such as Botox and fillers, they also play the most important role in cosmetic surgery. "Many patients, especially in the area of breast augmentation, often have doubts as to whether they will be satisfied with the final result. Using Crisalix makes the decision much easier for our patients. The computer simulation is more realistic than ever before. It is a complementary tool to achieve even greater satisfaction," describes the doctor.
Do not underestimate the danger
With a new option such as Crisalix, it is possible to look to the future and take away most of the fear of an incorrect result. However, despite all the euphoria, it should not be forgotten that breast augmentation is a major intervention in the body - including general anaesthesia, scars and a longer period of time that the body parts need to heal.
