First content update for Space Junkies

Ubisoft has developed the VR arcade shooter "Space Junkies" released the first post-launch update. "Season #1 Episode 1" introduces new content and features based on player feedback.

The first free content update for "Space Junkies" is available for users with PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality. You can look forward to a new mode, a new map, another character skin and customisations.

Season #1 Episode 1 at a glance

  • A new game mode, "Final Cut", in which players only get one weapon at a time. After each kill, they climb up the weapon ladder and have to get another kill to get to the final weapon, the Double Solar Sword!
  • A new map "The Orbital Mine". This abandoned mine is full of rocks, pipes and tunnels that make players go vertical and run for cover while lava flows around them.
  • A new character skin from the Quantic Calamari family, known as the "Squid".
  • A new set of customisations.

"Space Junkies" will receive regular new content through updates over the coming months, Ubisoft promises, including new game modes, characters, maps and more. The content will be released seasonally, with each season containing four episodes over a 16-week period. The next content update "Season #1 Episode 2" is expected to be released in May 2019. In addition, PlayStation Move and Smooth Rotation support will be introduced in a special update in mid-May 2019.
