Thanks to the latest technology, visitors can now Tratzberg Castle Experience 500 years of history live and with VR in 3D. "This makes Tratzberg the first castle in Austria to take this innovative step into the future," announces the castle tour.
The journey begins on a stormy winter's night in the 15th century. Emperor Maximilian's old castle "Tratzperch" looms menacingly over the visitor. Suddenly, flames flare up and the gloomy walls are reduced to rubble. But reconstruction soon begins. The first, late Gothic part of Tratzberg is created and visitors are right in the middle of it all thanks to the 360° VR tour.
The virtual reality journey through time was produced by the Belgian company Alfavision. Architectural historians, medieval experts and the lady of the castle and her team spent 14 months realising the 250,000 euro attraction. Until now, the virtual reality tour has only been shown to an exclusive test audience. It is now open to everyone. Just like the radio play tour, the virtual reality journey through time is also available in German, English, Italian, French, Spanish, Dutch, Hungarian and Japanese and the children's version in German, English, Italian and Dutch.
