Apex Construct is confused with Apex Legends

Fast Travel Games is currently enjoying a massive increase in sales figures for the VR game "Apex Construct" which we have already reported on several times. The reason is a curious mix-up.

"Apex Construct" will be combined with the newly released free-to-play battle royale shooter "Apex Legends" which has launched very successfully and is currently one of the most popular games. The confusion mainly concerns China, as "Apex Legends" is not yet officially available there. Andreas Juliusson, Marketing & Communications Manager at Fast Travel Games, said"Since the launch of Apex Legends on 4 February 2019, visits to our shop page on Steam have increased by over 4,000 percent."

He added: "What makes it even stranger is that we've sold more units of Apex Construct in China in the last seven days than we did in all of 2018. Apparently people are willing to buy what they think is Apex Legends for $29.99, even though they thought it was a free-to-play title. Probably those sales will be refunded, but our books are looking pretty good right now."

However, this has also had a negative impact on the company. Although the studio has done absolutely nothing wrong, especially because "Apex Construct" was released long before "Apex Legends", the title is receiving many negative reviews from Chinese buyers who feel cheated. The Steam community team is currently investigating the case. However, it is a shame that players do not want to admit their own mistake and instead penalise the innocent developer.
