Statement on Oculus Rift 2

A few days ago, it was announced that the Oculus co-founder Brendan Iribe has left the company. At the same time, there were rumours that the departure had something to do with the fact that Facebook Oculus Rift 2 has set.

Oculus, which was bought by Facebook a few years ago, has responded to the rumours and reports in a statement. When asked whether there will actually be no Oculus Rift 2, the answer was: "We are planning a future version of Rift. You might remember what Mark said at OC5: ...when we release the next version of Rift - which is not this year - all the content that works for Rift will work with the next version."

It continues: "So while we're not quite ready to talk about the next version of Rift, PC VR is still an area we're investing in. It's still part of our strategy. We're continuing to work on products and content, and you'll see that next year. Also, Nate is still leading the Rift/PC team and there are no changes there." So there we have it, Oculus Rift is being further developed.
