US airline offers passengers VR goggles

To make the flight a little more enjoyable, US carrier Alaska Airlines is offering its passengers VR glasses to pass the time, but only on selected routes and only in first class.

The Allosky VR headset which supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels per eye. You can either watch normal films on a large virtual screen or experience 360-degree content. Passengers can watch films such as "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" or "Ready Player One".

The VR glasses also support Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube and Hulu. However, one Dutch investigation have already shown that passengers wearing VR glasses could be too distracted to notice an emergency situation or follow the crew's instructions.
