Date & demo for the VR thriller Transference

Ubisoft and SpectreVision have today confirmed that the psychological thriller "Transference" will be released on 18 September 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR, PC, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

In addition, the PlayStation Store released a demo that can be played on the PlayStation 4 and optionally with PlayStation VR. The demo serves as a prequel to the actual game, which is why a download (1.39 GB) may well be worthwhile. You can also watch a suitable trailer. Incidentally, Hollywood star Elijah Wood plays in "Transference".

In "Transference" you move through a digital recreation of the mind and work to uncover the secrets of a house that harbours a distorted reality. As you explore the mind and unravel the secrets of the house, you will encounter a family whose members have their own history and perspective on the events buried deep in their memories. According to SpectreVision, all decisions will have consequences and affect the fate of the family.

This is what they say about the prequel demo:

  • This prequel takes place several years before the events of Transference. Take part in the experiment that set the subsequent events in motion.
  • Explore the mind of a subject suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
  • Solve crunchy and challenging puzzles as you repair his faulty memories.
  • Switch between different perspectives and try to put the pieces of his story together.
