Unfortunately, Nintendo has no plans to release a VR headset for the Switch, but in the VR Zone Shinjuku In Tokyo, you can at least play "Mario Kart Arcade GP VR". However, as very few of us will make it to the Japanese arcade, there will soon be a remedy.
As HTC has announced, "Mario Kart Arcade GP VR" will be available from 3 August 2018 in the Hollywood Bowl at the O2 in London be playable. This is a bowling centre with an adjoining VR arcade. London isn't round the corner either, of course, but at least it's closer than Tokyo.
Up to four players compete against each other in "Mario Kart Arcade GP VR". Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi are available, and of course you can annoy your friends with the familiar power-ups. Thanks to motion detection, the banana actually has to be thrown, which promises even more fun. As the racing modules have haptic feedback, you can feel the power-ups and collisions.
