With "Nefertari: Journey to Eternity", an exciting VR app has now been released with which you can explore the burial chamber of the Queen Nefertari is allowed to explore. The burial chamber is considered one of the most detailed buildings in Egyptian culture.
As you can also see from the video, the walls of the burial chamber are ornately decorated and feature many pictures that tell a story. Fans of ancient Egypt can probably spend a long time exploring the artworks, as there are many interactive elements and explanations. Some of the rooms are even so low that you have to crouch down when exploring the vaults.
According to the creators, the entire burial chamber was scanned down to the millimetre and reconstructed as a 3D model on the PC for virtual reality and suitably illuminated. As a result, the murals appear very detailed and razor-sharp. "Nefertari: Journey to Eternity" can now be downloaded free of charge from Steam for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
