Two new partnerships have been announced for HTC Vive that could be of interest to fans. These are strategic partnerships with the Major League Baseball (MLB) and the well-known McLaren racing team.
Unfortunately, the VR baseball content is only intended for China for the time being, but who knows what the future will bring. The multi-year cooperation with McLaren however, applies worldwide. HTC and McLaren want to launch a special edition of the Vive VR headset, among other things, but no images or a date are currently available. New ways to experience racing are also promised.
McLaren and HTC Vive are also working together on e-sports. A new competition in which Vive Pro will be used will combine real and VR sport. It is not yet clear what exactly this will look like, but it could amount to an F1 driving simulation for virtual reality, because according to HTC Vive manager Alvin Graylin, virtual reality will finally allow you to fulfil your dream of being an F1 driver.
