The 89th Academy Awards will take place next Sunday, 26 February 2017 in Los Angeles. And for the first time, a VR film is nominated.
You can also watch the film with positional tracking with the Vive experience.
The film by director Patrick Osborne is set in the family car of Pearl and her father, who drives her around as a musician for years until she is allowed to drive herself. Viewers can watch the story from any angle with the 360° film.
Der Google-Kurzfilm aus der Virtual Reality-Reihe „Google Spotlight Story" celebrated its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2016. With its Oscar nomination, the film brings the new VR technology to a wider audience.
