VR Jump & Run Astro Bot: Rescue Mission announced

Fans of colourful VR jump & run can look forward to a new title. It is "Astro Bot: Rescue Mission", which is being developed by Sony's Japan Studio. The team responsible has already published "The Playroom" and "The Playroom VR". And the hero will certainly look familiar to some gamers.

In "Astro Bot: Rescue Mission", which will soon be released for PlayStation VR (no date has been given), you take on the role of the robot Astro. As a ship captain, he has the mission to find his lost crew, which is scattered across five planets. You run, jump and fight your way through a total of 26 levels, at the end of which a tough boss fight always awaits. By the way, "Astro Bot: Rescue Mission" is easily controlled with the DualShock 4 controller and a trailer with gameplay scenes has also been released.

Nicolas Doucet, Creative Director of Sony Japan Studio, saysWith PSVR, we had the chance to completely reimagine platforming elements and add a lot of variety to the gameplay. The player can take advantage of the perspective, the environment and the additional depth that PSVR offers. The game plays wonderfully smoothly. Jumps are made with incredible precision, even in the biggest hullabaloo. As you make your way through the different levels, you can take innovative approaches such as playing an entire sequence from below, above or through 180 degrees. Look around the corners to see if there are any ledges hidden there."
